Year in Review

I love the idea of starting a new year, new week and new outlook all at once. Goodbye twenty-ten and hello twenty-eleven
Here's my year summed up in a few dot points
  • Experienced my first overseas getaway, I explored Bali with my two best friends
  • Got the travel bug.. badd!
  • Purchased my first SLR camera and have fallen in love instantly
  • Finished my second year of uni, meaning I’m half way through my degree!
  • My little sister graduated from high school - with three high school graduates my parents are officially 'old'
  • Won my first gambling money betting on the horseys… I only won $20 but still
  • Worked four jobs
  • Laughed
  • Cried
  • Discovered the meaning of true friendship
  • Spent way too much time on the phone
  • Danced in the snow… in Brisbane in the middle of July
  • Camped for the 14th year in a row in the same town, in the same caravan park, on the same tent site
  • Became slightly obsessed with polaroid photos
  • Spent my second year at college and in turn treasured my mum’s home cooked meals so much more
  • Got offered a Resident Assistant position at college for this coming year
  • Had dinner under the Eiffel Tower... in Brisbane
  • Dreamt about summer in Europe

Hello Summer

Wow, it has been soo long since I last wrote a blog.
So my life has finally slowed down - I have just about finished university for the year meaning I'm half way through my degree! I have two weeks left in Brisbane and then will return home for my three month holiday; I cannont wait!

Over the last few weeks I have definitely felt the change in the weather. The sun stays out just that little bit longer in the afternoon, getting up in the morning is so much easier and wearing shorts and a singlet is a must to get through the day. I'm loving this weather.

I'm hanging out for an amazing summer laying on the beach, sipping cocktails and gossiping with my girls...

Introductions

As I returned home and brought absolutely no uni work with me and my parents are at work and my sister is at school, I thought why not enter another blog.
However, I’ve realised that I haven’t done introductions as of yet..
At present I am studying a Bachelor of Primary Education in Brisbane whilst living on campus at College. I’m currently in my second semester of my second year and will be half way through my degree in precisely 16 weeks time (not that I’m counting or anything).

Home is not Brisbane and I only get the chance to head back home to visit my friends and family in the uni holidays. So I jumped at the chance of my long weekend and decided a visit home was just what I needed. As a naïve 17 year old, straight out of year 12 and moving to Brisbane to start uni, college was the perfect place for me.

College, wow, what an experience. Australian colleges are somewhat different to the American colleges we see portrayed throughout teenage rom coms. Firstly we don’t have sorority’s or fraternity’s we have instead brother and sister colleges, secondly we don’t play beer pong (ever) and thirdly we don’t have housemothers we have infact principals, just like school. However, there is one major similiarity..  the parties. College kids can throw a good party.

Travel Secrets

So I have recently returned home from a girls' holiday to Bali (when I say recently, I really mean 57 days) and I have caught the travel bug baddd!
My bestfriend writes a blog and I follow some blogs religiously so I thought why not start one and hopefully fill it with not only my travel stories (fingers crossed another overseas getaway happens very shortly) but also my everyday life.
Soo Bali.. well one word can sum it up quite easily – ah-mayy-zing! Two of my girlfriends and I decided in the Christmas university holidays that we needed to get out of Australia and explore the world. So we booked flights, accommodation and insurance and had tickets in our hands for June 21. We counted down the days, brought locks for our bags and contained our excitement for 6 months whilst studying.
To make me miss Bali all over again, check out the pictures below..
